Vanuatu General Information.....

Island Food...

Throughout the Islands of Vanuatu, the year 2001 was the National Year of Island Food (Yia blong Aelan Kakae). Everybody was encouraged to eat locally grown food, rather than expensive imported goods.  Jeremy's class presented several local food items at assembly.  Each student read out a poem they had written about the food they are holding in the pictures below.  Then they all sang "Eat Local Food."  To find out the names of each fruit and vegetable hold your mouse over the picture and the names will appear in order.

Local food it is so good

Eat it up you know you should

Rubbish food it is so bad

Wasting Vatu makes you mad
