Welcome to the Vanuatu Living section of our website.  See below for details of what you will find on each page then click on the coloured hyperlinks under each section to select the page you want to see..

Vila Central Primary (School)

What is it like to go to school in another country, especially when you are the only white child in your class?  Are the classes in English, what do you study, what resources are available?  Visit this page to see some photos and find out how much the boys are enjoying going to school in Vanuatu.

Presem Masta (Church)
Get a glimpse of what it's like to be part of a local church in Port Vila.  The people here love to sing and praise God, of course they do some things differently than back in Australia, but it has been great to know that we can be part of God's family wherever we go.

Cyclone Paula
What's it like to experience your first tropical cyclone?  Read Karen's cyclone diary showing our preparations as Cyclone Paula swept down the islands in February 2001.  There are also plenty of photos of the damage she left behind after she passed Port Vila.

Earthquake
Early on January 3, 2002 Vanuatu was rocked by a massive earthquake.  We have included some photos to show you some of the damage to roads, bridges and buildings. teoumabridge4.JPG (32429 bytes)
